UNI EN ISO 22000: Co.ind has been one of the first Italian companies that, during the first months of 2007, got accredited of ISO 22000 certification (“Food safety management systems – Requirements”). It’s a voluntary standard to certify the safety management system into food industry. The aim of this certification is to control all the subjects involved into the food chain. ISO 22000 forces a systematic control on the whole suppliers universe, beginning from the raw materials’ producers till the final distributors, so to guarantee an efficient management of the risks connected to food safety. ISO 22000 rigid control enhance products’ quality and their safety consumption.

Certificazione UNI EN ISO 9001: this certification ensures a strict quality control route of each product. The aim is the constant improvement based on customer requests and needs. Every year over 11.000 coffee quality controls are made. The process begins in the coffee origin countries where Co.ind experts sort out the better green coffee, passing through different steps during the shipping and the stocking, and concluding in Co.ind laboratories where the final products are submitted to physical/chemical analysis and to specific sampling tests.

INEI (Istituto Nazionale Espresso Italiano): Attibassi Crema d’Oro and Attibassi Oro Bar blends are certified by INEI in order to guarantee the espresso quality through a certification recognised by Csqa.

CCPB (Control consortium for organic products):every organic product produced in Co.ind is controlled and checked by this consortium that defend and control organic products quality and origin.

Fairtrade: when a product carries the Fairtrade mark it means the producers and traders have met Fairtrade Standards. The Standards are designed to address the imbalance of power in trading relationships, unstable markets and the injustices of conventional trade. Fairtrade sets a Fairtrade Price, which is the minimum that must be paid to the producers and a Fairtrade Premium, an additional sum, to invest in their communities.

BRC (British Retail Consortium) Global Standard for Food Safety: The Global Standard for Food Safety was first developed in 1998 by the food service industry to enable suppliers to be audited by third party Certification Bodies against a single consistent standard, reducing duplication of effort and enabling the retail industry to focus activities on areas of competitive advantage. Built on the principles of clear risk based requirements, informative report format and auditor competence, the Standard has continued to develop and evolve with input from a wider base of international stakeholders including retailers, caterers, food manufacturers and Certification Bodies.
The Standard is closely managed by the BRC who license the use of the Standard to Certification Bodies who must be both accredited by their national Accreditation Body and abide by strict BRC requirements for auditor competency, reporting and performance.

IFS (Internationl Food standard): The IFS Food is a Standard for auditing retailer and wholesaler branded food product suppliers and only concerns food processing companies or companies that pack loose food products. The IFS Food can only be used when a product is “processed” or when there is a hazard for product contamination during the primary packing.

Kosher, this certification is worldwide recognized and released to companies that satisfy the standards connected the Hebraic culture and religion. This certification is strictly connected to Hebraic community but it’s very welcome for all end customers, also from other religions, due to it’s rigid rules about food safety.

The Co.ind Ethical Code is the Co.ind “Constitutional Charter”. A model of reference for all those who work for the group and will have to adapt their conduct to the principles of loyalty, honesty, respect for the laws and commitments towards those who are related with the company. With the Ethical Code Co.ind defines its own “code of conduct”, as part of the Organization and Management, for reaching its mission: “Co.ind is a manufacturing company that operates in the food industry, cosmetics and sanitation. Co.ind intends to offer its customers, members and non-related, private label products competitive with the market leaders. Products produced by Co.ind must have high quality standards and must guarantee consumers’ health and satisfaction, respecting the work safety”.
The business ethics with which Co.ind has formed its social responsibility is based on the knowledge that every business, particularly those constituted as a cooperative, must have their codes of conduct tending to the protection of its founding values.

The D. Lgs. n. 231/2001 has introduced a new form of corporate liability, qualified as administrative but essentially panel in nature, for certain types of crimes committed by their directors and employees, as well as other parties who act in the name and on behalf of the company. In compliance with the directions of the D. Lgs. n. 231/2001 Co.ind has adopted, by resolution of the Board of Directors, a Model of Organisation, Management and Control periodically revised and updated by the Board.

Co.ind is OHSAS 18001:2007 certified. Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series helps to ensure proper control regarding the safety and health of Workers, in addition to compliance with the mandatory standards.
